A highlight of the anniversary year is the classic car star drive on Sunday, 13 September 2026, held in conjunction with the German Open Monument Day. This unique experience combines the preservation of automotive heritage with Stuttgart’s rich city history, creating an unforgettable event for automobile and culture enthusiasts alike. Become part of this special star drive and secure one of the limited starting places with your classic vehicle over 50 years old (up to and including model year 1976). Participation in the star drive is free of charge.
Start your day at the SWR Fernsehturm Stuttgart, where the doors will open exclusively for the star drive. Enjoy breathtaking views over Stuttgart, visit the tower museum including the tower’s foundation, and connect with fellow enthusiasts in a relaxed atmosphere. Two complimentary tickets for the SWR Television Tower are included.
From 11:00 a.m., the historic vehicles will set off at 30-second intervals on a carefully planned route through Stuttgart. A road book will guide you through selected areas of the city. The star drive is intentionally not a rally, but a relaxed journey through time on wheels, focused on shared experiences and the joy of historic automobiles.
From 12:00 p.m., the classic cars will arrive at Liederhalle Stuttgart. Each vehicle will be presented individually on the presentation ramp, and you will receive your official participant plaque before the vehicles are subsequently exhibited in the underground car park. Take the opportunity to explore guided tours, exhibitions and the anniversary programme of Liederhalle, while food and beverage offerings ensure you can enjoy the day in a relaxed atmosphere.
