On May 8, 2026, the SML CarClub invites you to a very special club event: Classic Meets Future – Oldtimers meet innovation. Together, you will discover the world of artificial intelligence in the automotive sector at Fraunhofer IAO and experience how classic cars and state-of-the-art technology combine in exciting ways.

The meeting point is at 1 p.m. at the SML CarGroup in Eberdingen-Hochdorf, where a coffee together is the perfect way to get in the mood for the trip. Afterwards, you will set off on a short, scenic route that will take you directly to Fraunhofer IAO – ideal for driving your classic cars together and enjoying the driving experience.

A varied and exclusive program awaits you on site. In an interactive talk, you will meet the avatar Joseph v. Fraunhofer, engage in conversation with him, and experience how tradition and innovation enter into an exciting dialogue. On the state-of-the-art roller test bench, you will gain fascinating insights into the performance, acoustics, and technical details of the vehicles. In the paint shop, you will discover innovative processes that are of great interest not only for new vehicles, but also for the restoration and value retention of classic cars.

In addition, CAVE and CoLED wall technologies invite you to enjoy an immersive experience in which vehicle designs and complex data are impressively visualized. With the latest virtual and augmented reality applications, you can get involved yourself and take a direct look into the future of vehicle technology.
