Excursion: Autumn days in the picturesque Black Forest up to the “Route des Crêtes”

We want to round off the 2025 riding season in autumn with a pleasure tour through the Black Forest and Alsace, all the way to the Vosges. We will enjoy the golden autumn with a sporty riding experience through picturesque areas, dreamlike mountain landscapes and winding passes, combined with culinary highlights. We ride through colourful leafy forests all the way to the “Route des Crêtes” in the Vosges, where wintry temperatures may even be waiting for us.
Our team accompanies the entire tour and is your direct point of contact. Our service team looks after your vehicles on site and is on hand with help and advice. Marcus Müller from “Genusstouren für Fahraktive!” leads us through picturesque landscapes and hidden roads.

The first day of travelling takes us from our tranquil Eberdingen-Hochdorf to the Black Forest. Our first break takes us to the National Park House in Forbach, which surprises us with a small permanent exhibition about man in the forest.
Winding roads lead us through the small Enz valley, past the Schwarzbach dam to the tranquil village of Waldum. There we fortify ourselves with a traditional Versper. Through the colourful forest, we pass the Schauenburg ruins and arrive at our 4-star Hotel Ritter Durbach in the Durbach Valley.

After a delicious breakfast at the 4-star Ritter Durbach hotel, we start our day of travelling. Today we will see many extremes. We start in the autumnal Black Forest and head towards the impressive Vosges mountains. We follow the winding “Route des Crêtes” (Vosges ridge road) and cross the regional nature park “Ballons des Vosges”. Here you get a taste of winter temperatures. We stop for lunch in a traditional “Auberge”. From the Vosges we return to historic Alsace. We pass through one of the most beautiful towns in Alsace, Eguisheim, which is characterised by its wonderful half-timbered houses. After an extensive and eventful day of travelling, we return to our hotel and round off the day with a 5-course dinner.
Saturday, 20 September 2025
Energised by the eventful tour days, we start our journey home. On the way, we stop for refreshments at a small café. We travel through the Black Forest to Bad Herrenalb. The small spa town is a popular holiday resort and has a beautifully laid out town centre with a spacious and flowery town garden. We enjoy a last meal together in the Klosterscheuer before everyone heads home. From Bad Herrenalb it is about 1 hour 15 minutes back to Eberdingen.
